5. Payment

Uwork provides flexible payment options to suit the needs of both clients and freelancers. Clients can choose to pay online via major credit cards, PayPal, or bank transfers, or they can pay in cash for on-site work. For cash payments, Uwork recommends that clients and freelancers agree on payment terms in advance. For online payments, clients can fund their projects upfront, and payments are held in escrow until the freelancer completes the work to the client’s satisfaction. Once the project is complete, the client releases the payment, which is then transferred to the freelancer’s account. Uwork charges a service fee on all transactions, which is deducted from the freelancer’s earnings. The fee is a percentage of the project value and varies. For more details on our payment system, please refer to our Payment Policy.
